Relic of John the Baptist was taken to Hovhannavank on the occasion of the Feast of Transfiguration
This is the fifth year since the reliquary containing the relics of St. John the Baptist is taken from the Treasury of the Mother See to be brought to St. Hovhannavank on the Feast of Transfiguration. This is the pilgrimage day of the Monastery.

Academic year was finalized in Etchmiadzin Armenian Youth Center
Etchmiadzin Armenian Youth Center hosts around 20 classes. It’s been 13 years since around 700 children receive daily education funded by Tufayan family. The final concert contained multiple genres – from Komitas Choruses to famous jazz compositions.

On June 15, our Church celebrated the commemoration day of St. John the Baptist and Bishop Atanagines. The relics of John the Baptist were brought out of the Mother Cathedral under solemn company of sharakans and taken to Shoghakat Church, as the day also marks the Pilgrimage Day of Shoghakat.

On June 17 the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated the Feast of St. Gregory the Illuminator’s deliverance from the pit
Every year, on the Saturday following Feast of Sts. Hripsime and Gayane, the Armenian Church celebrates the Feast of St. Gregory the Illuminator’s deliverance from the pit. To celebrate it, the relic of the Saint is taken out from the Holy Etchmiadzin and solemnly taken to Khor Virap to remain there for the rest of the day.
