First home blessing ceremony of the Feast of Holy Resurrection in Pontifical Residence
After the Candlelight Divine Liturgy ends, the first home blessing ceremony of the Feast of Holy Resurrection takes place in the Pontifical Residence. This is a special ceremony typical for Christian churches, when the priest blesses the bread, water and salt of the house. This ceremony was offered by Catholicos of All Armenians, Fathers Yeznik and Nathan in the Pontifical Residence. Back in the times of Apostles, the Disciples of Christ would walk from home to home passing the good news of the Lord’s Resurrection and bless their hearths.

The performance of Yerevan State Chamber Choir in Komitas Museum-Institute
Within the scope of 7th Armenian Festival of Composer Art, on February 16, Yerevan State Chamber Choir performed the choruses of Edgar Hovhannisyan and folk song arrangements in Komitas Museum-Institute. This year the festival is devoted to the 95th anniversary of Eduard Mirzoyan and aims to contribute to the development of Armenian composer school.

Retrospective revelations of Sedrak Arakelyan’s compositions
National Gallery of Armenia hosted discussion of Sedrak Arakelyan’s exhibition. There was no large-scale exhibition of the painter’s works since 1942. With the help of Master’s grandchildren Anush and Sedrak Arakelyans, from private collections, National Gallery of Armenia and History Museums of Armenia and Yerevan archives nearly 170 compositions were attracted, reconstructed and exhibited.

The film “The Silence of Vardapet” will start screening in Moscow Cinema Theatre from December 25
Closed screening of the film “The Silence of Vardapet” was held in Moscow Cinema Theatre followed by the press conference of the artistic crew of the film. The director and screenwriter of the film Vigen Chaldranyan considers this to be a unique project since up to day there hasn’t been any full-length feature film shot about Komitas. Starting from December 25, the film will be waiting for its audience.
