Feast of St. Vartan in the Mother See


The Armenian Church commemorates 1036 witnesses of St. Vartan and his companions for the sake of Homeland and Christian faith on the Thursday preceding Bun Barekendan.This year it was on February 20.On this occasion, under the Presidency of Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch the celebrant in St. Gayane Monasterywas Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan.

Museums of the Mother See Enriched its Collection with a New Painting


In addition to the renowned works of fine art, the collections of the Mother See are also supplemented by the works of young artists. Davit Danielyan, a painter and assistant to the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia donated his landscape painting to the Mother See.

Artsakh-based philanthropist Gary Safaryan was bestowed an honorary medal “St. Grigor Lusavorich”


On February 17, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Karekin II Catholicos of All Armenians bestowed an honorary medal of “St. Grigor Lusavorich” to Artsakh-based philanthropist Gary Safaryan for his services to the Armenian nation and the Armenian Church. The Catholicos emphasized the indispensable role of St. John the Baptist Church of Shushi in the spiritual life of Artsakh. Gary Safaryan had a great investment in the reconstruction of the Church.
