Palm Sunday at Holy Mother of God Church in Malatya


On the festive Divine Liturgy of Palm Sunday, Holy Mother of God Church in Malatya had under its roof children with disability, beneficiaries of “Star of Light”and “Alex” NGOs – the parents of children with disability. They children received small gifts from Ararat Diocese.

Under the presidency of Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the body of Archbishop Grigoris Buniatyan, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Ukraine was placed in St. Gayane Monastery where he received the last anointment.

130th anniversary of Ruben Sevak in the Mother See


February 15 was the 130th anniversary of the Armenian poet, writer and physician Ruben Sevak. It’s been two years now since the Museum named in his name is operating in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The pupils of Ruben Sevak School pay frequent visits to the Museum, read his poems, commemorate and pay tribute to him.

Armenian priests returned from the Theological Dialogue Meeting


From January 24-31, the 12th meeting of the International Joint Commission for Theological Dialogue between the Catholic Church and the Oriental Orthodox Churches was held in Rome, Italy. The theme of the Theological Dialogue was the Ecclesiastical councils, entitled “Historical Development of Ecclesiastical Councils and Theology”.

Development of the canon of sharakan designed for the canonization ceremony is underway


Late Archbishop Zareh Aznavourian in his articles on the 65th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide assumed that one day the Genocide victims would be canonized. The Archbishop also composed sharakan dedicated to the martyrs. The composition is still elaborated by priests and specialists. To remember, the canonization ceremony of the Armenian Genocide victims will be beld on April 23, 2015, by the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Exhibition devoted to St. Sarkis in the National Center of Aesthetics


St. Sarkis in paintings: the students of Henrik Igityan National Center of Aesthetics presented and told about their compositions on the topic personally. Navasard Kchoyan, theVicar of Araratian Patriarchal Diocese was the guest of the exhibition.

Feast of St. Sarkis the Captain in St. Sarkis Church of Nork


School children, students of a number of educational institutions and Armenian Church Youth Centers, numerous believers and the clergy walked to St. Sarkis Church of Nor Nork. They were joined by many others on their way to the Church with a prayer seeking the intercession of Saint Sarkis. A blessing ceremony of the youth was offered in the Church yard.

Requiem Mass for the Repose of the Soul of the little one in Avetisyan family of Gyumri


Requiem Mass for the Repose of the Soul of the youngest member of Avetisyan family deceased tragically took place in St. Nshan Church of Gyumri. In St. Sarkis Church of Yerevan, a parallel Requiem Mass for the Repose of the Soul of Seryozha was also held. Karekin II the Catholicos of All Armenians delivered a commemoration speech for the death of SeryozhaAvetisyan.
