In the borderland village Tetoo Jur (Sour Water) of Gegharkunik, a new church is being built with the support of Hayk Boryan now residing in Russia. Getashen is situated adjacent to this village. The construction of the Church of Getashe started from August 2012, with the support of its former resident – Robert Ghulyan.
One of the Churches under construction in the Diocese is the Church of Lechashen. Soon two Churches at once will open their doors in the city Sevan. The philanthropists are Alen Manukian and Sargis Petoyan from Paris.
The head of Gegharkunik Diocese Archbishop Markos Hovhannisyan gladly states, that over the last 5-6 years more than 30 Churches were built and renovated in the Diocese.
Construction of 5 Churches is currently underway, and 4 Churches are renovated.
